“I was up in Grand Lakes, Colorado with a bunch of X Games guys, and we were sitting at a table and I said ‘Hey uhh, any of you guys… give me some mushrooms’ and they were like ‘What? You microdose?’ and I was like ‘well no, but tell me about it,’ every one of them at that table are like ‘dude we don’t compete without it. We just don’t do it, it’s just something that we- every single one of my X Games medals I’ve ever won… microdosing mushrooms. It’s like a secret thing that we all do but don’t talk about.”
Snowboarding, Concussions and Depression: A Cautionary Tale
I first suspected it was a symptom of my concussions. While it was happening the cause was irrelevant - I just wanted it to stop. It could happen on the highway, during work presentations, or in social gatherings filled with people I’ve spent a lifetime around. Last winter I began to experience dissociative symptoms. Any memory of where I was, who I was with, and how I got there would completely vanish without notice.
